Today is the First Day....

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I didn't start it out with Total but I did decide today to take my future into my own hands. God is good all the time but I don't think he expects us to just sit back and wait for him to guide us. If there is one thing I've learned in my life, it is the fact that life happens, God provides and guides.

I think the best way to explain what I am talking about is this. Our life is like a boat. Now if you grab a hold of the steering wheel of a boat and turn it to the left or the right then that is the exact direction that the boat will go. Because when you turn the wheel, the boat is designed to go in that direction. But when can you turn the wheel of a boat and it doesn't go in that direction? AH, when it is tied to the pier sitting idly. You see, I believe our lives are like that. If we are just sitting there waiting for God to show us the way he can't steer us because we are not moving.

Let's look at some of the leaders of the Bible and see how many of them sat waiting for God's will. Let's start with Moses. Was he just sitting there one day when he saw the burning bush? Let see what God's word says "Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed." Looks like he was busy at work. Doesn't look like he was sitting around saying, "God, what am I supposed to do." And how about Peter and Andrew. Were they just sitting around waiting when Jesus called them. Let's, again, turn to the word "Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men." Oh dear, they were working too. And even Paul, on the road to Damascus, was working when Jesus called him. And Paul was doing the opposite of what God wanted him to do at the time.

All I'm saying is, keep working, keep striving, fight the good fight and God will guide. Be lazy, sit around, do nothing and God won't guide you until you DO SOMETHING. I know that great things are in store for me and my family in the near future but the only way I'm going to find out what they are is by doing the job that God gave me and use the talents that he gave me. Pray for me as I also pray for you to do your job to the best of your ability and God will guide you.

Today I'm Thankful for
  1. God's saving grace
  2. My pool
  3. My wife
  4. My children
  5. My job

Frustration is from Satan!

I've got to believe that frustration is from Satan. He steals your joy and gets your mind off of God. I have been having more of a personal relationship with Satan than with Jesus as of late. I've been letting him steal my joy. I've been letting him do what he does best with Christians. If he can't have them he'll ruin their relationship with God. He'll make them think of all their troubles and give them more to keep their minds on their troubles. I'm going to say "No more". No more am I going to let Satan steal my joy. No more am I going to turn to Satan's way and worry. No more am I going to question decisions that God made for me and have me second guessing. I am going to accept God's blessings and commit every day to Jesus. I'm going to accept everything that happens and know that God is in control. Regardless of any situation, God has his hand in the final outcome. God is in control. God is in control. God is in control. The joy of the Lord is my strength! Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world!

Today I am thankful for:
  1. Sue
  2. Andrew
  3. Breanne
  4. My Job
  5. My Pets

What's wrong with Oprah?

Here's what's wrong with Oprah. She claims to be a Christian and so many people believe that she is. The problem with that is that she promotes books like "A New Earth" which is so far away from the teachings of the Bible. Now, if your a Christian, you don't support that book and, if you support the book, your not a Christian. And it's not just the book. Just watch her show and you can see her liberal attitude. Just accept everyone. Let everyone live their own life their own way regardless of how you believe.

The thing that stirred this up is the Oprah show I watched today where there was a man on that was pregnant. What was really stupid is that it wasn't really a man that was pregnant, it was a man, who was once a woman and had changed into a man by taking testosterone and having a breast reduction. No changes below though. So she still had all of her reproductive organs because, get this, she still wanted to have a child. But she wanted to be a man, but she's still a woman. How confusing! And Stupid!! And Oprah was OK with it. She said, "Since I've been reading 'A New Earth'....".

Everyone wants to accept everyone now a days. Let's accept the gays, the Bible doesn't say anything about that anyway. Hey how about the terrorists, they're just misunderstood. I'm so tired of all these knuckleheads and their attitudes about just accepting everyone. Some things are just wrong and everyone knows it but don't want to say anything about it. Even the gays know that it's wrong they just won't admit it. But when they are alone and laying on their pillow at night, they know it.

I think it's time for Christians to start speaking up against these people who want us to start reading New Age books and accepting everyone no matter what. The majority has been quiet long enough and the US is now a mess because of it.

Things I'm Thankful for Today

  1. The Bible.

  2. Computers.

  3. The Internet.

  4. Music and the Artists that make it.

  5. Comedy.

Opening Day and More!

Yes, Monday was opening day for the Cleveland Indians and it was a great time to be a Tribe fan. No snow this year which was awesome! If you remember, last year, the game was cancelled because of snow. Sue, Breanne, Mark and I went to the game and we had great seats in the upper deck just right of home plate. And boy, what a game it was. CC gave up a 2 run home run to Jim Thome (BOOOOOO!!) in the first inning. But at the bottom of the 2nd the Tribe scored 7 runs. The White Sox picked their way back only to have the Indians own, Casey Blake, hit a bases clearing double in the bottom of the 8th to go up 10-7. The final was 10-8 and a lot of excitement happened. Did I mention I love Cleveland sports? We may not have won a major championship in a while but it's never boring!

Please pray for me and my family as we go through some struggles right now. Many things are going on and I'm sure, God is working in our lives and these are just tests for us. Praise God for his many blessings!

What I'm Thankful for Today
  1. My Lord
  2. My Wife
  3. My Kids
  4. My Home
  5. My Church

Today in Church

Today in church I had the opportunity to preach for Pastor Gary as he was in Mississippi at a revival. It was a great service and I enjoyed the chance to bring God's message. This Sunday I talked about worry. My scripture was Matthew 6:25-34. It was awesome to watch the Lord put this sermon together for me and I enjoyed bringing the message. I hope that it touched many hearts. I will have a link posted, hopefully tomorrow, with my notes and the PowerPoint I used. God is good all the time. Continue to pray for me and my family as we seek God's will in our lives.

Things I'm Thankful for Today

  1. God's Salvation
  2. My Family
  3. My Church
  4. Cleveland Sports (believe it or not)
  5. My Job

Hello, is anybody reading this?

Hello All,

Just wanted to make a post to all people that are reading my blog. Haven't been keeping up with my blog lately because of all the activity going on. ATC has been really busy and I'm working on a lot more as well. Right now I'm getting ready to promote my "Exposing Psychics" show which is really going to be exciting as well as a challenge. I am working on a lot of new tricks as well as some new vent work. You can check out my updates on my website at http://www.thefamilyvent.com/

Tomorrow I am going to do close-up magic at a Texas Hold Em Tournament in Columbus, Ohio for the OIADA. This is going to be a lot of fun because after my show I get to participate in the tournament. I love Hold Em!

Also already have some bookings for the summer months for ventriloquism so that is going to be fun! Hope to make it to one of the conventions this year. Would love to have Sue go with me and help get some information that might help my business out. She is a lot better as far as business is concerned. She is very organized and efficient!

I also just did a show for the Eastwood Mall Captain McFinn's Club which was loads of fun! I hope to do some more in the near future. I'm hoping to have pictures posted here soon. Also, you may see some words highlighted in my blog. Interesting thing that Amazon has now. You can select words and when someone clicks on them, it gives you products on Amazon about those particular words. For example Electric Light Orchestra, Harry Houdini, Jeff Dunham and Tony Evans. Click on any of these words and it will take you to Amazon with products about them. Pretty cool if I do say so myself. Of course, one of my favorite for you to click on would be Bruce Lee!

What's been going on?

Well, a few things. A friend of mine opened a magic shop in the middle of the Eastwood Mall. It is a great place to be and I really expect him to be successful there. I have been helping him out by demoing a few of the magic tricks there. It is a lot of fun!

Autotrader.com is plugging right along but working in the Mahoning Valley really is frustrating. Many negative people and I have dealerships cancelling on me for no good reason. Here's just one example. I get together with a dealer, take him out to lunch, go over Autotrader.com with him, his GM, his internet manager and 2 days later, he sends me a letter of cancellation. He never even hinted that he was unsatisfied with the results or activity that he was getting.

2 weeks ago I preached at my church. It went well thanks to God's guidance. I actually had a sweet lady, Artie Harper, come up to me this week and tell me that it was very good and it's something I should have been doing for a long time. It made me think.

Oh, also, my brother Gregg is now at a radio station every day from 6:00am to 10:00am. It is the Warren, Ohio station WANR and you can hear him live by going to his station on the internet http://www.wanr1570.com/ .

Got a new W.T. and bird arm illusion coming this week and I'm really working on an adult routine (not that type of adult routine!) that talks about and exposes so called psychics and fakes that take peoples money with card readings and the like. I want to put together a 3 day show for churches. Friday night, "Exposing Psychics", Saturday night "Family night with Fuzzball, Gill and the gang!" and Sunday morning sermon. Please pray for me as I ask God to lead me in the right direction! This is were I feel he is leading me. I really think, to add to the psychic routine I'm going to need a light show and fog machines and such. That's not going to be cheep!

Please pray for me, my family including Sue, Breanne and Andrew. Please pray that we follow God's will in our lives. Have a Merry Christmas.
